Southwestern Advantage Wins Award 100 Years in the Making |
Nashville, TN – Southwestern Advantage was honored in San Francisco at the Direct Selling Association’s (DSA) 2010 Annual Meeting and 100th Anniversary Celebration with the organization’s Century Award.
The meeting closed with a black-tie Centennial Celebration Banquet in which Southwestern Advantage and three other companies were honored for the contributions they have made to the direct selling industry as a whole and to the DSA as an association in the 100 years since it was established. The other honorees were Avon Products, Inc. (126 yrs), Fuller Brush Company (104 yrs) and Regal Ware Worldwide (100 yrs). Southwestern Advantage was established in 1855 (155 yrs) and is the nation’s oldest direct selling company.
Southwestern Advantage, headquartered in Nashville, is a direct selling and publishing company that helps college students from all over the world run a summer sales business to offset their educational expenses. Southwestern Advantage is the core company in the Southwestern Family of Companies, which consists of over a dozen companies that have been built from the students who participate in the summer sales program in the industries of investments & finance, fundraising, publishing, consulting, fine art, executive search and insurance.
The DSA is the national trade association of the leading firms that manufacture and distribute goods and services sold directly to consumers. The DSA is based in Washington, DC and has over 200 member companies including well-known brand names such as Avon, Mary Kay and Pampered Chef.
